Well the snow melted and was a beautiful day to get out detecting with hunthicks and Hans R Dirty... managed to pull this tongue off a 2-piece belt/sash buckle - eagle holding an olive branch and arrows at the end of the day up on an older site. It's bigger than a regular button and smaller than a cross plate...it is concave with no back... Also found this possible 93 rd Label pin with the date of 1871 from the same Regiment I found the Shako plates a few weeks back... Also in the group picture is 2 militia buttons, vent circle, chain from the helmet, various coins from the 1800's, an ICR bale seal, musket ball and button..
