My first Artifact?

I picked this up while out metal detecting in a plowed field . A friend of mine suggested it might be a Nutting Stone. Any expert opinion want to weigh in on it for me. I looked Nutting stones up and it sure looks right to me, but i have no clue

Yep. Folks call those nutting stones. I bet if you look closely you can see the hole is worn in by a spinning shaft. Now drill holder and fire starter holes come to mind.

how big is it? most "nutting stones" are just rocks with natural dimples.

You are correct. This one is similar to ones I find in east tx. The holes aren't pecked from nutting. They are worn in fro. Different sizes of spinning bow drill shafts. Folks call them nutting stones but it is more likely they were friction fire starters.
