Hi! Finally getting out there after the winter and fought my way through some dense woods...Found some square nails...and then a loud, clear signal..

My first Barber (except for one on a seeded hunt a couple if weeks ago LOL...which, BTW had over 200 detectorists...and someone lost their keys...not to be found that day LOL)

Congratulations on finding your first Barber dime! That one is in fantastic condition!

Nice job. Couldn't you have found a nicer one?:laughing7: It is beautiful.

FAN DIME TASTIC!

Heck yeah man congrats I remember finding my first barber...such an adrenaline rush

Wow! What great condition it is in! Congrats!

Good job I would put her in a nice case that coin looks like it would grade well

Looks like a carriage step in pic with golf ball.

Thanks, 63. I was going to toss it thinking it was a motorcycle or dirt bike starter pedal!

Guess that is what keeps us going! Just trash and a few shotgun shells today.

Underwonder, Huge congrats for your first barber.. The next one will be a lot easier to find... Good to see you post, fresh air and relaxing, while getting free exercise.... lol Basssmann Ray

I did put it in a 2x2....but never had a coin graded before. Not sure about the cost and the process..Is it worth doing even if not planning on selling?

Hi Ray! Good to see you post as well. Thanks! Funny that I found a seated before a Barber! LOL I do love woods walks and searching. I had been in FL for a while...not much luck with detecting there but really spent more time walking the beach looking for sea glass and shark’s teeth! Food fresh air!

For your first Barber...it doesn't get much better than that! Congrats!!!

PCGS its about 35 dollars if its a key date and worth doing. Coins that are dug will be noted as ED enviornmentally damaged by coin graders. Silver is a little different here in MI it comes out of the ground looking like the day it was dropped. I will send some of mine in if its in great condition or a good key date to each his own though.

Congrats on your first Barber! It's in great condition too. I remember my first Barber dime, it was worn so flat that I could barely read the date. It was 1892, first year Barber...almost seated. Nice bunch of finds Sir.
