Bounty Hunter - Fast Tracker
Very cold out today. I'm in South Carolina and we're bracing for a nasty winter storm but I had to get out and hunt.
I found .32 cents. Or 8 targets. (not counting tons of trash.) BUT.....this was my first ever day of metal detecting.
I'm stoked!

This storm is going to have to move out of my way. There's metal in them there hills............

Hey Underfoot,

Where are you at in North Carolina, I have tons of places down there that you can Hit. Im always down that way in the summer time Looking for rattlesnakes and Treefrogs and stuff and i know where theres alot of foundations ( Old Houses ) where you can try your luck. I dont get down there as much as i would like to and if your close to the area i usually go i can give you some spots to go, Let me know where your at and what your near and ill get back to you. Welcome... And congrats on getting out there and making some finds!!!

My first day of hunting back in 1998 was a comedy of errors. After hunting the yard of the 1820s house I lived in, I managed to locate only a clad Roosevelt dime as my first dug coin. It turned out that there was nothing else in the yard except a badly corroded 1880 Indian that I found years later. I then headed down to a local patch of woods where there is a waterfall and a swimming hole. I found nothing there, except for a 1944 wheat cent that was on the surface, which I found by eyeball after going right over it with the machine. Ironically, that same place turned out to be one of my best detecting spots of all time- large cents, Barbers, 2-cent piece, Mercury dimes, Indians, Buffalos, V-nickels, etc. all over the place. I didn't find any of it on my first day- went right over them because I wasn't good at using my machine yet, and they were deep. I only returned to the site a year later with a new machine, and realized what I had walked right over. If you enjoyed your first time out, just wait until you get really good at using your machine and find some killer spots to hunt!

Welcome to the Net :icon_sunny: Nice start . You have more snow down south than we have in Ohio :o :-[

TonyTone and bgriffin,

I'm in upstate South Carolina. Greenville area. Under about 7 inches of snow at the moment and the ice is falling. Weeeeee..

rhedden - I'm itching to get back out as much as I can and improve the skills. I had a blast finding stuff that I could have pulled for my pocket. I'll probably squeal like a little girl when I find something really cool.
