My FIRST ever GOLD ring! anyone ever seen one like it??

found this ring, then one scoop later the handle breaks off my sand flea rake that i use as an aluminum scoop.... =( that sucks.. but this is my first ever gold find!! that makes me want to jump around and dance.. yay!!

stamped 14K 1G MEXICO (i think it says mexico) dont know what the 1g means either... maybe 1 gram? i dont have a scale...

Very nice ring.

I've seen gold bracelets that use ball links that sort of look like that on the clasp. Although I've seen rings made with links, I have never seen one with links like the one you found.

Ivan, I see what you see too but I think the camera makes it look like that. Some Mexican gold is porous and rough in appearing too. The 1G stands for the maker, ringmaster, or jeweler and Mexico is the country it was made in (others have already pointed that out). I don't know why, but lots of gold pieces made in Mexico are marked Mex., MEX, MEXICO, etc.
