Wow! That was dug?

And displayed on a paper towel no less- just like any self respecting metal detecting fanatic.

Say, what is in that blue bottle of meds?

Nice finds!

Amphetamine Salts?
A little "pick me up" for any discouraged or lethargic hunter.

Or a numbing effect for us ADHD hunters! :)

That is the first "complete" one I've seen that was found! NICE!!

Hey Matt....is that a .22 cal bullet? Is there any markings on the bottom and can you put a coin near it for reference?

Here is a complete one that I found last year. But,it looks like the top part of the bullet was chewed off.
These bullets are called Spencer Carbine 56-52 calibers.Rim fire CW Era bullets.

Wrong. No such animal. The main cartridge was a 56-56. It used a 52 caliber bullet. There were variations like the 56-46, 56-50, and 56-52.

That is what I thought that I wrote,I got it out of the McKee & Mason book. But I typed in the wrong thing.
Sorry for mis-leading info.

clearly a dropped bullet --go back theres most likely more shell casing bullets --look in a 360 "see" if anything looks like a target to you (target range) or a likely battle ground attack /defend set up spot --if so bullets incoming / out going in the area .

awesome whole bullet! Those Civil War bullets were huge! I would hate to have been shot with one of those! :)

Great find, very good condition. WTG
