I was hiking by the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, GA today and found this in the rootball of an uprooted tree. At first I thought it was an arrowhead, but now I think it might be a scraper of some kind. Or maybe it’s just a pointed rock? It’s pretty flat on one side and slopes down to a sharp edge on the other. Only one edge is sharpened. The other is flat and wider. Any help figuring what I have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry to say, You have a ROCK!

I would agree Im not an expert but does not look like it was worked. Good to ask and get opinions and learn Tommy

Welcome to tnet from MI Tommy

Cool find. Although, I do not believe the recovery is anything more than a rock piece. I sure hope I'm wrong...Good Luck this 2020 year! :icon_thumleft:

While it has the general shape of an arrowhead unfortunately it’s just a natural rock not an artifact

I agree. Looks like a rock. No evidence of being worked. Good luck in your search.
