Well, after about a week and a half I am posting my first finds. My hunting grounds are a grade school the next street over from my house. I went on an average of one hour after work for 10 days with varying degrees of sucess. As far as coinage I found all clad except for 1 1944 wheatie, 1 1941 nickel, 1 1943 S silver nickel. I did find a copper ring, watch, a coca cola pendant that it made of brass. Found it sitting upright about 3" down. Also found an old Avon lipstick sampler. Says Avon Mothers Ruby Red on the bottom. The wife said they were plastic when she was getting them in the early 70's. So it must have a little age on it. Remember the I am Loved button? I dug 3 of those up along with a few pieces of costume type jewelry. Anyone need a pencil. Found about 100 of them. Gee wiz the guys that mow the grass never pick anything up. Just mow it all under. Thus lots and lots of alum. But it still all goes for good.
Some years ago when I had a MD I had combed this area previously with little results. Far different this time. I also used two different coils. The factory 9.5 and a 10x14. I thought the 10x14 out preformed the 9.5. Although after we got some rained I noticed a few false signals put out by the 10x14.
Any help as far as the age and value of the Coca Cola Pendant would be appreciated. Hope the pics turned out. It's something I'm still learning.

Nice job on the first finds, you have gotten to know your detector well! It only gets better. HH, Mike

Nice digs, what is the age of that school? Did you get a chance to go visit the "Fins" yet? I just thought of another place for you within a mile of that one. I will PM you in the next couple of days.

Congrats on your first finds. Looks like you are very successful.

Savant365, no markings on the cross. Looks to be made out of aluminum.
Yes my knees are rubbed raw so tomorrow I'm going to see about getting knee pads. Hey Wallhanger the school was built in about 57'. PM me wne you get the chance. You never know I may know who they are.
Thanks to all for the nice comments. Tomorrow I'm going to try an old library that used to have a school next to it. The school was closed before WWII. Some years back I found a few IH's

You sure are on the right track. Digging everything will reward you with a nice gold ring one of these days.
