Hi All.
I just took Mr. Wolf out for his last outing as boss as the E-trac will be arriving soon. Only out for about 45 minutes finding just 1 coin and 1 button (and a bit of trash) - but could this be my first 'Hammered'? :hello2:
I'm thinking maybe Edward VI 1550/53 Base Penny - Positive ID most appreciated but it is quite smooth.
Here's the pic:

Best wishes,
David.

I could have predicted this as your first

Elizabeth I Halfgroat - London Mint. No mint mark visible but the date range for the '2 pellet behind bust' is 1582-1602

No, This was on a wheat field - still in stubble. I was just checking if they'd ploughed and set it yet - but they've only just removed the bails. Got a few more days yet so will try the E-trac on it - should arrive tomorrow.

I thought so, but didn't want to say!

Like any machine it will take time to learn. However plenty of US Tneters can give advice. Also when you master it in a years time, I will come to you for advice.

In all honesty, it will mean a lot of deeper junk which could waste time & p*ss you off. But you need to dig it to learn. However good the detector, the deeper the target the less the machine can reconise what it is.

Yes Crusader - Your many posts make it look very easy (great posts & great finds) but I think you've acquired some great sites over the years to work on and that's what makes a difference - I'm still working on my sites - Still locally at moment but hoping to spread my wings a little further shortly.

Exactly, its taken me years & searching many different farms with many fields to hunt down the right areas. Hopefully, your local ones will have a gem or two. I much prefer my local history it means more to me (even though I have only lived here 12 years or so).
