My first hunt

Today was my first time using a metal detector... I was digging up bottle cap cities and wads of foil. I never realized how much foil is on the ground until it is all you find. A woman asked me if I have ever tried the beach and I told her it was my first time and I'm not very good at finding anything besides trash. I showed her all of my pocket trash. After a while of only finding trash I decided to give up and leave the park, that is when the sweet little old woman started emptying her change purse and kicking dirt over it. She said to me "don't give up now kid, they are just starting to sink in." And as she was leaving the park and I was finding the coins she scattered around for me she said "it sure beats bottle caps."

It made my day.

Also sounds like you need to hunt a cleaner park. Or a quieter area in the park. Any sledding hills in your area?

Yesterday a family came up to me and asked what I found and I lifted up my bag of bottle caps. The kid said "well If bottle caps were currency you would be rich!" That made me laugh real hard.
