I am new to metal detecting. I only found a quarter, but was right off the bat! Nothing else afterwards unfortunately, lol. But still nice to of found something right away.

The more time you get out there with your machine the quicker it will be you learn the "language" the machine is trying to speak to you. Keep after it and most importantly have fun and share your goodies here on T-net. :icon_thumright:

In regards to "Some" of the junk? When in the field, if you're not sure what it is, or you think it may have some marking on it etc., hang on to it until you get home, then check it out better. There have been times with my reading glasses and a magnifying glass, I discovered things that I could not see while out there detecting. Some were very cool surprises. Only you're FIRST quarter? We ALL started with our first coin, welcome to the obsession, or rather hobby.
