Hello everyone,

I was out last week with my Minelab Ctx3030 and dug up my first Indian Head penny, its a crusty one but I am happy to have it. I am having a hard time reading the final number, 188? , looks like a 2 or 3. I also dug a stoneface fabric token, a silver ring that weighs 1/4 ounce of silver. I also dug an unknown item badge, token, or medallion. Maybe someone else has dug one or seen this could tell me what I it is?

Damn nice hunt there bud!!! Congrats on the IH... HH...

Nice finds, that ring looks like a fat little bugger. Congrats

Nice hunt. Damned shame that ring got chopped. It's worth more as a silver ring than scrap silver.

I didn't chop with shovel it was actually under a wheat penny at 10 inches, that I didn't mention. I think whomever had ring before me tried to resize it.

Some older rings were made with a split at the bottom. Maybe it's solder let go which happens. See if the two ends match up! :)

The ring is pretty solid, I tried moving it but was unable to move it. I think a jeweler would have to heat it up and fuse back together with silver solder.

Congrats on neat variety of good finds! :notworthy: :blob9: :notworthy: The silver ring band can be easily repaired if you'd like to wear it or sell it as jewelry. Could you please post what all the words say on front & back of both your Stoneface token & your other token? I'd like to know, plus people much more knowledgeable than me may be able to give you facts about those two finds. Have fun! Andi

The other token last 3 pictures, on one side I believe it says St. G.R.O. with a shield surrounding it, and a cross at the top. On the flip side it also has a shield and a cross at top with St. ???? Cant make out what it says. I would clean it more but I am afraid to if its something rare. Just don't know what it is.

Nice batch of finds and congrats on your first IH!

Religious medallions depicting a shield are usually St Michael from what I've seen

That is a good find! I would like to find one too. I also would like to find a ring.

Nice finds congrats on the first IH.

Congrats! Hopefully this W. PA rain subsides so we can get out this weekend.

I hope it does too, although with the ctx3030 its waterproof so it doesn't matter if it's raining or not , I just hate when I have to empty the water out of my hole when trying to locate whatever I have found!
