This is the best coin that I have ever found.

I was out on Saturday, hunting an old area of town... I decided to hit this little park... I have hit it before, but only found modern clad. Most of the area has been graded, so I didn't expect to find anything good. There are a couple of areas where there are large old trees... and the ground has not been graded. I went and hit those areas.

I get a nice hit on the Deus, right at the base of one of the big trees. I dug down... maybe 5" and out pops this coiny looking disc... really dirty and crudy. I put it in my pouch and kept moving. After a few minutes, I pulled it out and looked at it again... but had no idea what it was, not silver and not the right size for any coin I have ever found... I was not sure that it was even a coin. When I got home and started to clean it up... I began to think that it might be a large cent... I could see the outline of Liberty's head... I could hardly believe my eyes.

The ID appears to be Coronet Head LC made between 1816 and 1839. There are no visible numbers of letters on the coin.
Thanks for looking!

It sure is a nice solid sound that can make you unsteady on your feet! Congratulations Tom!! Good thinking about them old trees!!!

Now you've got that first one out of the way, you can work on number 2. I found one per week for a short period after the first one. Hope you have the same luck.
