my first liberty head!

So I found lady liberty at a polo field and thought I'd share her with you! Unfortunately age hasn't treated her well and she has accumulated a black residue on her backside. Any tips on removing it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Congrats! You may want to check the section that deals with cleaning your finds for tips on that sort of thing. Oh, and for fiture reference, That coin is commonly refered to as a "V" nickel. (or shield nickel if it's the earlier version)
