My first metal detector

Hello I'm brand new to metal detecting! Can anyone recommend a metal detector for a newbie and also not too expensive? Or somewhere where I can find a used metal detector? Any info would be great!

Do lots of research, learn the capabilities of various detectors, figure out your needs as far as ground balance, etc, what kind of earth you will be hunting in and make your own decision.
I'm a Fisher guy. Someone else is a Whites guy, etc, etc, so we will recommend our favorite brand.
Learn them all and decide on your Brand .
