Found a AAA crossing guard badge as my last dig of the day (thermo-cell died, mosquitos took over). Early 20's??? As evidenced by the title "School Boy Patrol" which changed to "School Safety Patrol"

...and my first musket ball! Located 5 minutes before the badge.

Plus a few shotgun shells (paper casings), square nails, 1989 Canadian penny, and an old homeless camp...

Welcome to Tnet, and congratulations on two very cool finds. Does your badge still have its pin on the back? Sub 8-)

Badge pin is intact.

Love the badge! Personal history items like that are special to unearth. Great job....Brad

Very nice relic finds! Congrats!

Those musket balls are heavy for their size, found one last year.

That's a neat looking badge.

I believe the AAA might have come from a catholic priest. (joking!!! But it was wide open). But great finds I live those old musket projectiles. There will also be many more shot gun shell brass too...I find em all over in PA they'll eventually turn into a pain in the butt. But keep it up and we are lookin forward to more posts!!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm loving this. Except for my poison ivy and the mosquitos. I always go fully dressed now.

Went back to the spot where I pulled the round ball out. Dug six 3 ringers and a pocket knife all within 20' of each other. The pocket knife was missing a side. Remaining side was real wood. Don't know how old that might make it?
