Hi All: Today I found my very first pre 1900 coin and its a beauty//
A friend and I went out to a old cellar hole site that was first an early 1800s tavern then the site of a 1890s hotel that burned to the ground before it ever opened // About 10 ft back of what looks like the foundation I got a good 77-78 sig. on the ATP Showing 8”(=6”) deep. Dug off the top fluff and polked around with the PP and finally got it in my hand—so small I thought it was a washer// WOW-WOW what a suprise --the thing is an 1830 half dime in great condition---Perry :hello2:

That's a beaute! Congrats on your find.

Nice that is one that is on my list just havnt found it yet. Congrats. Ive got a place that has produced many 1800s coins oldest is 1837 but most are indian heads and a couple barber dimes. The site isn't even close to being hunted out yet though.

Nice work again Perry!
