Hello,
Today my luckyday!
Sunday afternoon and almost spring.... very bored. So I took y MD
and decided to hunt our own backyard . To my surpirice I got a
good signal only a pair of Mtrs. from where I found that UFO key
some month ago. The dirty piece of cupper was only 2 inches deep!
"It´s too thin to be a coin" - I thought .But after cleaning it I confirmed
the face of a man there with some chin beard like the one Buffalo Bill
wore
Unfortunatelly the material is so much corroded I cannot see any Year
or writting. But surely 18 or 19th Centuries.
HH .
Mike

I can't ID it for you, but how great it must be to find treasure literally in your own back yard!
If I know these TNers, someone will know more.

Congratulations,
Born Free

Thanks to all
Today I had a wild guess :
Since at the very same place some years ago a US civil wartime Inkwell
was found,
couldn´t it be possible this coin also US origin?
The cupper coins in Uruguay doesn´t fit this image,at least none I know.
But I´m no coin expert.
Any idea could be of great helpfor me.
Thank you again and
HH.
Mike

My guess is about 1830s

Almost looks Canadian or South African. I see you put up a better picture, the first was hard to see any detail at all. HH, Mike

Hello Mike,
a fellow member from a german webpage apparently identified the coin.
I saw the images, and they match- I am waiting for his answer as what
type of coin
it is and where it comes from.As soon as I get the results I´ll let
you know.
Thank you.HH.
Mke

I would be interested in what he has to say.

Hello,
here is the Coin:
Origin : Italy 1866
Haus of Savoya
Victor Emmanuell II
1861 - 1878
10 Cents / 5 Cents Turin
Estimated price in good condition : $ 130 dollars

At least now do I have an idea what kind of Family inhabited
this property so long before we did.
Very interesting indeed.
HH.
Mike

Hello,
this is what was left of Pocket Watch of Gold . This relic was found aprox. 40 years ago
buried in these grounds as well. In my opinion it belongs to the 1860´s and
probably the same family too.
