My first samples

Well here we go ,,,,, thanks to every1 that gave me tips last week , I took my first samples today , I pulled out some quartz rock from a area I have been passing through , it looked promising , but my samples are a bust lol , I seem to know how to find fools gold tho haha .

Those are nice specimens. Even if it's not gold, it's a cool display of other mineral inclusions. How did you find them?

Did you crush the samples and pan them out?Sometimes arsenopyrite can be near gold.

If there are any creeks in the area I would check them first, if there's gold in the area it will be concentrated in the creeks which will make it easier to find and there should be a lot of black sand in there as well. I would check the creeks and streams first if there's none there I would say to look else where for some gold.
