My first silver & a phone # woo hoo !!

After hunting at the 1800s home for the third time and still coming up with nothing I finally decided that I would not be going back there . I was tired and I had gotten eating alive by the black flies & mosquitoes and was coming to the conclusion that I was a failure at mding.
I was home about an hour when I got the md fever again and decide to drive down the road bout a mile and check the town grange and town office which is right across the road .About five 10 mins later 4 coins and across the road a clad ( I think thats the lingo) woohoo!!

I also took down a number of the Brick house down the road dated 1796 that is for rent, maybe I will get up the nerve to call and ask permission to hunt there.I will probably have a party if I find anything old !!! You can all come . H H

Nice silver!!! I'm still searching for my first..

Look at all that silver. Nice finds!

Funny how you can get disgusted & then be ready to go again in an hour or so. Same thing happens to me.

Good luck on the brick house.

Re: My first silver & a phone # woo hoo !!

that's some good finds

V/L...With all due respect, I suggest you go see the people in charge of renting the house in person. Let them know you're not some nut with a backhoe & an old map. If it's a real estate firm, leave them with your contact info for future use when they have another "old" property for rent/sale. Do they want a liability waiver? Assure them you dig with a hand trowel like they might use to plant tulips or such, & you fill your holes.

I've never been refused when I showed up in person...Sometimes even got more info/leads than I had hoped for!

Just MHO...

Great diggs!!!!!

Now go call that number......

Keep safe...

Re: My first silver & a phone # woo hoo !!

the 1796 house might be a limited chance --with folks in it they might go nope -- empty --maybe a yes --- always try to get to hunt the vacant buildings -- "between tenants" --no one to bug you that way or go oh that diamond ring is mine I lost it last week gimme . --- andasking in person face to face is better --much more likely to get a yes in "person" --- on the phone a "no" is very easy to give ---in person the land owner can size you up see if they "like" you or not -- on the phone your an "unknown"-- so a "no" is a easy out.

WTG :thumbsup:Thats the spirit! Ya have to have that never say die attitude in this game hun. I can't even begin to count the times I have went to a site expecting to make the "big find" only to come away empty. You showed real heart by getting back out there and then you got your just rewards, all that Sweet Silver :icon_sunny: and I'll echo the other 2 guys by saying first hunt the spot to death first then go find the owner of the rental and make a personal appearence not just a call. They are much more likely to give you permission than with a phone call, and being your a nice lookin lady won't hurt either ;D

Nice going and any kind of asking is more than most do. But, in-person is best.
