A few days before my birthday (today is the day) I found a 1992 Walking Liberty Dollar in my father-in laws' side yard. There were also three burned nickles and a few clad pennies (not worth showing). What a birthday present that was! -- Jim 001.webp002.webp

Congratulations on your recovery

Standing liberty dollar must mean a modern american eagle one ounce silver coin? Burned nickels? Meaning that they are oddly colored, or are they melted?

Grats on the recoveries! How 'bout some pics?

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I will add a picture later. It's been so long since I uploaded a pic that I can't remember how, after all I'm a year older now. Also, I miss stated, it's a walking Liberty. The nickles and pennies are black so I guess they were in the pocket of an old pair of Levis that was burned in the trash pile.

Ok, great. A walking liberty is a half dollar. They did use the walking liberry design to produce the american eagle one once silver coins as well. Also, most coins come out of the ground severely discolored. This may or may not have anything to do with fire.
And finally, adding a pic is super easy on here as there's a button to click to "add pic" to your thread. Give it a try and thanks for sharing.

You'll get help soon, from moderator, or someone like me!
"Just" click on the icon, found third from right, that says, "Insert Image"
Then, in the next thing you see is a "from computer" pop-up, then "Browse",
then you Navigate to your picture file, on your computer. Select it, then
the process of uploading begins with another click or two.....its fairly simple.
Hope I helped some.
Anyway a pic of both sides of the coin/s, since we all love to LOOK at these
finds...REAL Treasure...!
Thanks!

Need pics Jim! A silver dollar doesn't happen very often. Congrats to you!!!!

That is amazing, Congrats and Happy Birthday:occasion14:

silva dolla bada bing nice find

It's in really nice shape too. Congratulations to you! :occasion14:

Its a great feeling to find one. Any silver is special, but 1 ounce is hard to beat. Was it found detecting or just in a debris pile.

Thanks for the reply. I detected the area and didn't find the silver because of a lot of iron trash in the ground. I went over it with a rake and that was when I found the coin. This was the first silver coin in several years. The last silver coin that I found was a 50 cent piece.

Nice going, there aren't many of those in the ground

That’ll do the trick. Haven’t seen many of the modern AEs dug. Nice!!

The house was built in 1960, not very old but I was hoping for at least a silver dime. I'm not complaining at all about the modern silver. The interesting thing is that it was the oldest coin that I found (1992)there.
