We've all seen, heard of or found coin spills...particularly if you primarily hunt beaches. However, throughout all the years I've been walking our Florida beaches this is the first Sinker Spill of this size that I've ever found.

These sinkers came from the same 3x10ft area of Bicentenial Park beach and it wouldn't surprise me if I didn't find all that was there!

Sounds like someone “got the lead out”. That one was terrible, wasn’t it?

Always fun scooping up that lead.

better than finding pulltabs or bottlecaps
i know guys that throw them away
know guys that give them away
met guys that have dug deep holes and reburied them
lead is worth money and can add to gas money - battery money or retirement money
:icon_thumright:... older pic - Ive easily got over 500 lbs - this is mostly from last 15 yrs

Normally, finding sinkers is a good sign that gold could be near by and at a similar level. This spill however, was relatively shallow in the dry sand high on the beach near the dunes. My guess is that some fisherman unfortunately dumped his tackle box. :dontknow:

Casper-2, You win first prize on lead! :notworthy: I too have found my share of lead over the years but not near that much! But, I've never found this much in one place at one time. Made me laugh! :laughing7:

I just went to my man cave - got close to twice that much now plus dive belt weights there too
i live close to 2 hrs away from salt water spots
imagine if i lived closer :tongue3:

leads around $1.20 a pound

I keep all my sinkers and other forms of lead

When I find sinkers in a small area I grid that area off and hunt it hard. Lead , like gold is a heavy metal and so I've read sinks at about the same rate and is often found in the same ares.
