Hello to everyone,
I just wanted to take a few minutes to share a few of my 2014 spring finds with you. These few keepers come from the yard at the home I just moved into at the start of winter. It was still a little cold out, but I had some time so I thought let's do it, been a long winter. My first short hunt was the back yard, within 45 min (give or take) I found my first number one, a good for one loaf of bread token. As soon as I saw it I thought it was just a cool little charm, but after a closer look I realized I had a first for myself. It has a flower like shape and is pretty thin. There was also some clad, one Canadian nickel, and plenty of trash. I should do a few more pictures with group shots of everything I dug.

The next day, during a short morning hunt the front yard gave up some clad, one wheat, and an 1881 Indian head, (which is still a little dirty yet after only a short warm peroxide bath.) After the temp came up, it was back to the front yard around 2 that same day. As I was heading out my girlfriend tells me she has a feeling I’ll find some good keepers. Then she told me to find her another old keyhole for a skeleton key and my reply was that I would rather find the key LOL. After 4 or 5 trash digs around the spot I thought I had stopped at earlier, I get a good steady repeating hit. I make the plug cut and roll it over to see nothing so in goes the pin pointer and it sings out as soon as it gets close to the bottom of the dig. I go in for just a small scoop and out pops a skeleton key. After that I found one more wheat back and another Indian head from 1897, which I put a little mark on the rim of, OOPS

. It was a pretty good day though and I thought it was funny how my girlfriend and I were joking about the key and then one comes up. She collects the old keys and bells, so she does get to keep some of my goods. Thanks for checking out my finds.

SurfingDigger sorry don't remember exactly what it rang in at I'm thinking it was mid 60's. Most of the time I dig most all good solid hits I most of the time just take a glance at the numbers its mostly on tone sorry:) AQUA, you got that right my friend lol , but most of the time she enjoys to go with me she got a wrist broke several years back in an auto accident and has a hard time diggin a plug when in some hard soil so I let her do some driving and I dig for her sometimes. But not till it gets good and warm out lol, little cold blooded girl lol. Thank you all for looking and still if anyone knows anything of the token please would love to know little history HH to all.

Great finds, one thing I would love to dig up a Skelton key. Congrats
