I have only been detecting for about 3 weeks now and I am having a blast! This morning after work I decided to stick around the house instead of heading out but the bug got to me and I decided to swing the coil around the yard (with land lord's permission). I had dug enough nails to build an Ark but while I was digging a target that gave a promising signal I placed my pin pointer by my knee an it went crazy. It was indicating it was nearly touching something near the surface so I decided to chase it instead and this was the result:

Mississippi 1 mil aluminum sales tax token!

It's in pretty good shape and just needs to soak in some olive oil to loosen up the junk on it.

Thanks for looking!

Nice rare Find

Ha, heck yea. I found an old mason jar with about fifty in it few years back. I find one just about everywhere I go. Mississippi luxury tax token. Louisiana has a triangle, an Alabama has a circle. Find plenty in Madison. Congrats!!

I've even found some five ones made of copper. An some plastic ones

I was pretty happy to find this one. If it isn't raining in the morning when I get off work I will be hitting the area again.

Welcome to the Tax Token Club!!! Chug

Nice find! Oklahoma had tax tokens issued at one time also. They have a round hole in the center and are made of aluminum, brass, and the last ones were plastic and cardboard. One of my first MD finds when I started was an aluminum tax token also. Good work! keep it up!
