A convertible Jaguar! Too bad it's in such bad condition. Found it next door at a house that was built in 1929 and has yet to produce any silver!! The car was down about 4" and should look like this http://www.atlantaantiquegallery.com/wsm/i-7023_tootsie_toy_jaguar_convertible.html but was red in color instead.

Earlier I went to what I believed to have been an old stage stop near Banning. That was a bust. Tons of junk littered the entire area, from bullets and casings, glass and tin cans, beer cans and all sorts of other miscellaneous metal and junk items. Detecting there was impossible.

Nice. I still haven't found one of those. I did own one as a kid though.

dude I had that car as a kid, to cool to see, maybe if I went to my old home and dig up the back yard I be I would find some of my old cars there.

Ray,
Nice Jag. I love finding those TT's. Yours is in great shape too. I find a lot of busted ones on the farm I MD at.
Keep at it with that Silver Umax.

Nice going..actually that's not in that bad of shape for being dug..I found that same model along with about 20 others this year in our neighborhood..those were the rage back in the 50's.

Nice Jag. The tootsie toys I have found are all missing wheels. oh wheel. ;D

Nice Jag!

Hey waltripcrew, you ever get down toward cleveland?

I agree...not bad shape at all. I have one of those on my finds "wish list".

I'm in the area all the time, I carry my machines with me but I have yet to hunt Cleveland. I have hunted a few wide spots in the road between Cleveland and Etowah.

Those old cars are fun to find Ray.
Brings me back to my childhood days when I used to play with those cars.
I believe I had one of those in purple when I was still a kid.
Good find.

Wow, I didn't realize these little toys made such a big splash with detectorists!

I failed to show you all the other side, because where the door should be is a nice chunk taken out. So that pretty much ruins whatever value it may have had. Still, it was neat to find one.

Tootsietoy cars are always cool to find. I hunted a yard here about 3 yrs. ago & found 6 of them in a small area. Probably used to be a sand box area & they just forgot there cars, & let them sink into mother earth. Glad the kids didnt pick up there toys that day !!. Ron

Here's some Tootsietoy vehicles I dug earlier this year..Jag included. I think it's cool to still be able to see what their original colors were since they've been in the ground so long.
