A week ago i had been going over some old topo maps and discovered a house property not too far from where i live that i believe was abandoned by the late 1940's. Well yesterday i trekked into the woods and discovered the remnants of said house, it has been pushed up into a big mound overgrown with grass, I'm guessing from whenever it was last timbered, well i turned the machine on and went to it, first few targets were old mason jar lids, then i got a solid tone about a foot up into the mound, i popped the plug and i saw my target had rolled out the plug back into the hole, i picked it up and at first thought it was a large piece of lead, but then i rolled it over and i see a big ol US looking back at me, needless to day i think i floated about 10 feet off the ground, so i got my first US plate, kinda dinged up but i still love it, also found a Rogers & Co. silver spoon, 1941 Merc. in great shape, a large flat button thats not pictured, part of what i think was a pocket watch, and a bridle rosette with some kind of engraving on it. def going back to search that site more, enjoy!!!! (attached are group shot, and individual pic of plate and rosette) 100_2598.webp100_2599.webp100_2597.webp
