My first weeks finds!

I'm just starting out, hello everyone! I may need help with identifying a few small finds soon. Thanks in advance for and help, I'm new but doing my best to learn. I am a history buff so I know a little about some finds, and I mean a little lol.




Any ideas what ths is? Flag tip? Has. Hole in the part coming off the spike.

Anything related to steam makes sense , I purchased a map of civil war site locations, and I found this in a field, next to a subdivision about 5 miles from my house. It was a military railroad terminal that was torn up after the war, outside of Petersburg va. Thanks for the info! Makes perfect sense
