I met up with Gary (G.A.P.metal) and our friend Loren today to detect the Queen Catharine Indian Village in Central NY. We immediately split up and went our own ways. The area has very heavy brush and is difficult to detect and is also a deer haven which means tics being present. After about an hour and a half of fighting the brush and pulling several tics off my clothing, I was ready to move on to a local field before a tic(s) got the best of me.

I ran into Loren on my way to the field so he tagged along with me. My second hit in the field found me my first ever IH found by detecting and it's a 1867. It still needs cleaning but appears to have nice detail left.

( I contracted Lyme disease last spring detecting and battled it for several months and still have some ill effects from it. I rode with Loren to the site today and left my spay in my truck so I wasn't protected and was thinking all day about how STUPID that was.)

Thanks for looking & HH all

Very nice find! Thanks for posting some pictures for us!
Apple Cidar Vinegar in a small carry along spray bottle will keep those tics
and Mosquitos off you while being easy on the body!
Best of luck!

Good year to bad about the condition...

Ya those woods are full of deer poop/ticks and beer cans...but those fields are full of relics.
That`s a good looking IH congrats on your first !
