So I'm doing some inspecting at one of the NY trash depots last week (don't ask where or which one) and one of my friends who works there calls me over. He says, "You like treasure right?" I say, "Yea, why... what did find?" He takes out his phone and shows me a picture of a 2016 1oz pure gold US Buffalo Bullion Coin.

He says, "This was in a lock-box I found." I ask, "What else was in the box??" He says, "Alot of silver coins, with the dates... like 1888, 1800's on them."

He then holds out his hands about a foot apart and says, "This much of them!" He shows me another picture. It is a pic of the lock box he found overflowing with Morgan dollars.

I ask, "Where you put all this??" He says, "I take them ALL home, ha ha." "Just one gold coin?" I ask. "Just one," he says. I tell him, "you know that one coin is worth over $1,500 right haha?" He says, "yeah I know, isn't that something!"

So long story short judging from the pics he showed me this guy probably found between $5,000-$10,000 or more in treasure depending on if any of those Morgans were key dates. In weight alone it looked to be many pounds of silver. Crazy what ends up in the garbage.

Just thought you guys and gals would enjoy this story.

I guess one man’s trash really is another man’s treasure.

Yup !! I enjoyed it !! Pat him on the back for me next time you see him.

Well done...

Pictures or it didn't happen.

Pics PLEASE.

talk about being in the right place at the right time!

Roll over. Go back to sleep. ╦╦C

It sounds incredible! Just a word of warning, do try and get pics up. The mob likes proof. ;)

Pics or not, you probably need to SHUT UP and say no more! (for obvious reasons) ╦╦C

Nice. But I need to see proof. Let’s see some photos.

I found a cash changer (dollar to coinage) in the dumpster behind a drug store. I picked it up, shook it and heard change rolling around. I figured if coins in there could mean bills as well.

I took it home, got my sledge... Whack! Whack!

Just under $4.00 in nickels & dimes.

No pics so believe it, or not.

I would not be surprised at what the OP claims as to someone found is true.

Say no more! "Loose lips sink ships"... :notworthy: sure hope he shares his bounty with you! :icon_thumleft:

Someday I'll share my find story. Not yet. ;-)
