My home made Hand Dredge

Hey gang..

I made this to see if I could.. and to my surprise.. it works awesome..
I tried a bucket of dirt with water and it sucks Material up like a champ.

Can't wait for next week when I get to try it in QuartzVille OR.

Found my first picker using my shrimp gun for the first time. Sure beats digging in water. Have fun!

They work great if you have a good seal. I use a 2" rubber test plug. You can get them at homedepot, Lowe's or any plumbing store. I have a tee on both of mine. I either put a plug or shot piece with a cap or I have a couple of one way valves I put in and pump into a bucket. I use them primary to get into places a shovel won't. Or bottom of bedrock. But if you can use a shovel you will move more material.

I love mine!!!
Dirt cheap to make and it works like a champ.
I've even used it on dry material too in bedrock cracks and seemed to do pretty good.


I also use a rubber boot at the nozzle junction. It's flexible yet nice seal and allows for some angle of attack if needed.
