thats pretty neat, bet it was exciting opening it up. I once found the bottom half of one of those old change machines that was worn on the hip on your belt, but it was demolished and empty of course

very nice... yeah once I realized what it was I so disappointed that I damaged it! I actually wanted it more than the coins but we all know things get damage from time to time when we try to get them out of the ground especially in this hard Texas dirt I have around here!

Here is a locket coin holder that is fairly close to the one I found... it was made in France an was made around 1900.. I bet this thing was quite valuable back then!

LOL I'm happy to hear that... I'm glad I could share my excitment with others... yeah it wasn't a big cache of coins but it was still just as exciting! I think the locket could of held a maximum of 5 dimes and 4 or 5 nickels. Just imagine if it was full! now thaty would of been a REAL mini cache!
