My My what the rain "rings" out

I know it's only and I button 'infantry" but still it's worth keeping! found a North Carolina button here last week too...and an eagle just yesterday before the rain...

I see trk5capt already told you about your button.

I sold my dug CS infantry button off ebay for about $100 as I recall. It had no shank and was in poor condition.

Lol, "Only an I button" ?? Confederate buttons are a very rare commodity. The union side had tons of cash to equip their forces, but the rebels were relatively poor. They usually wore flat buttons or civilian 2 piece buttons. The true military issue buttons are what most relic hunters actively go out and seek. That would be one that made them dance a jig.
