I had carefully grid searched 90% of the front yard, before calling it quits, when the guy next door fired up his lawnmower. Other than a few wheat pennies, I wasn't finding anything except some shallow clad coins. It's was time move on to a better site.
After driving around looking for some virgin ground I ended up at a site that I've detected before. I wasn't expecting much, but I did manage to find a 1961 Rosie and 1942 British South African coin. It must have come back with one of the soldiers after the WW2 ended.
I need to take a few days off and regroup.
