A 1837 large cent and what looks like a buckle, clasp or fastener. Looks like it has a crown embossed on it…

I have the exact same peice. It was identified on this site as a picture rail hanger, most likely turn of the 20th century. Will try to get that thread as well. Here’s mine.

How did you clean it up? Looks beautiful..

mine had already been in pretty good condition when I found it. I used a bit of lemon juice to make the plating shine a bit better but not sure how that would work on yours with the rust.
