My oldest out of a penny roll

Hello all. Found this well worn Indian cent this morning in a machine roll of cents. The rolls weren't producing many keepers and then this oldie dropped right into my hand. 1879, my oldest penny and my oldest U.S. coin found in a roll. You never know when one of these will show up.
Also, i went thru a box of nickels last week. Found 3 or 4 war nickels and 2 buffalos including a well worn 1919-S. The other buffalo was a 1934-D.
Finding quite a few older coins in rolls recently. I wonder why? Thanks for looking, good luck in your searches. MM2

That's an amazing find with the IH I've read the posts where they are found once in a great while,but can't recall one that old.

Thanks for the comments. Quite a few older coins have been showing up in my searches lately. 2-V Nickels, a 1901 barber dime, the indian cent, and numerous buffalo and war nickels were found in the last couple of months. I'm sure if i'm finding the older stuff, others CRHers in the area are making similar finds that aren't being reported on this forum. All i can say is keep up the search, the old stuff is out there.
