My 'Scrounge' fund
I have turned lead into gold and aluminum into silver...thanks to my "scrounge" program.
'Scrounge' is a scientific
term I came up with for all the pack rat like scavenger activities related to metal detecting and just plain eye balling
techniques for collecting "junque" and turning it into gold and silver coins. Easy. Recycling aluminum cans was one tactic, I used to walk the
road by my house on a sunday and find all the cast off six pax debris from saturday night plus a stray hub cap now and then. The cans got crushed and hub cap got sold to one of the local dealers who were always on the lookout.
I sold all the lead I found in civil war camps and from old batteries and around old houses (sash weights), copper from wire scrounged from appliance cords in dumpsters. It all went to the scrap man or recycle center and I bought gold and silver coins with it.
