My season is over.

I un-loaded the Jeep today, extra coils, sand scoop, shovel duffel bag with gloves, extra batteries, first-aid kit, extra cloths. Started tumbling some copper cents today, Cant belive I dug almost 5 lbs. of copper pennies!! Might get a few more days at the beach, depends on the rain

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

Got me beat for age in coins, I found a 1909 Indian head penny that rotted out because of the high ph soil acidity that I found it in, I did find a couple of small pieces of float copper from the ice age. I'm going to f/f you ...meaning I fav'd your posting and I want to friends with you.

Didn't find them, bought them with the clad I found this year :laughing7:

I unloaded the batteries and hung up the detectors in the basement for the time being.
No sense driving around with them in the trunk at this time.
Now- to plan a trip down south where it is warm...........Hmmmm :icon_thumright:

Thanks Bart, I spent a few years down in your neck of the woods back in the early 70's when I was in Army.

Hey Potts, nice job on the coin cleaning. Would be willing to tell us how you did that?

I see your a Yooper, where are you from in the UP? I live just south of Menominee MI in Wisconsin.

I would rather not give up my location in U.P. I hope you understand not trying to rude with you. As far as cleaning.... I use a rock tumbler ..... used pea gravel this year for cleaning, white vinegar a little salt and a city tap water rinse . If you wish to save your finds like I do for a later times I suggest vacuum sealing them, I always double seal the vacuum bags .
