I had the opportunity to get Kate a one of a kind creation by Steve Wandt, a well known California goldsmith artisan, who uses natural gold nuggets and specimens to make his pieces http://www.naturalgoldjewelry.com To say Kate and I are thrilled would be an understatement. Here are some shots from Steve's studio, and on Kate's finger. The gold in quartz specimen came from California's famed "16 to 1" gold mine. Thank You again Steve for this beautiful work of art!

Wow! That's one helluva cool ring. Let me know where she'll be losing it :laughing7:

Utopian Stone in Nevada City uses specimens from the famed 16 to 1, exclusively.
some really beautiful pieces have been pulled from the Allegheny area, search for 16 to 1 and be prepared to drool.
nice ring Terry, your wife is a Lucky Lady.

Nice ring. It seems those have been around for a lot of years. My Mom and Dad in Nevada City back in the late 30's and she owned a similar ring that she wore every day for the rest of her life. Some of the gold eroded out over the years since hers was a regular cabochon that stuck up above the ring structure so it was exposed to everyday wear. Your wife will probably not have the same problem since the stone doesn't seem to project above the ring structure.

That's a beauty!

Nice! Did you find the nuggets and the specimen?

Terry, that's beautiful! Don't let her wear it on a water hunt!

steve's a cool guy. i had him test what i thought were diamonds but turned out to be herkimer diamonds (quartz).

highly recommended. he's a real miner and he makes his jewelry from the gold he finds. and his living.

Love Steves work, beautiful piece your wife is a lucky woman.

Love that 16 to one gold.

Beautiful ring!

I like to invite kate to swim in my local beach in Connecticut. Good hunting and good luck.

That really is a uniquely beautiful gold ring.

Everything was so nicely chosen to make it all come together.

All the best,

Lanny
