I love that the very first coin I dug in my new yard was a silver. However I hate that I must dig a lot of this: junk.jpg to find these: dirty.jpg

Dug a small section of my yard today for an hour and managed these keepers, 1975 nickel, 1956wheat, 1892 V nickel! and the other items here: clean.jpg thanks for looking and HH!!

I love your V nickel and feel confident you'll make some more great finds in your yard.

Thanks!, so far the notable finds from the yard are:

about 15 wheats
1952 roosie
1920 Merc
1907 IndianHead
1911 V nickel

v nickle! heck I would be happy for the wheatie at this point! and you even found silver! You should come to my place and try to even dig... the word dig here is a joke, more like a jack hammer spot or hammer and chisel. all that to find out it is trash, hoping it is a coin, even a stupid penny. yep, you have a pretty good spot my friend.

I know EXACTLY what you mean.... No such thing as "digging" here either. In fact when the machine goes off and it says 8" I always wanna cry. I just chip away at the top and remove the loose stuff out and continue down deeper. In fact every time my wife buys a new bush or plant and wants me to dig a hole for her I about have a nerviness breakdown.

Yes sir, I worked a 10x15 area today, slow n steady, slow n steady

Yeah, and then, down the road. You could take a square at a time and just strip off the top 12 inches. Sift that and start all over with the detector. :)

Very nice. So far my yard has given up a mercury dime, 2 clad dimes, 4 Lincoln cents and a pile of trash. Still trying to find the first nickel.

Man you arent gonna sleep untill its all dug. Thats one heck of a time spread.
Yeah the house was built in the 1910s so it's neat to find a coin that pre-dates the home
