Hello SE Michigan, here.

Cloudy, Sat, June 13-, but nice and calm out. My first coin of the day was a clad quarter,
2nd was a memorial, then I dug a 1962 rosie. That was cool, but there
I was on my knees, grabbed my detector and swung it over the hole and
heard a nice sound, got my hopes kinda high for another silver and sure
enough it was a 42' merc.First time I found two silvers in one hole and yes
it was rather sweet.

The silvers at the top of the picture I found since May 8th, the two at the bottom,
found today. Was gonna give the merc I found today a baking soda
rub down, but it took a heck of a lot of rubbing to get the rosie clean,
I just could'nt do that to a merc.The 37' and 40' mercs I did use baking
soda on.

Good luck,
HH.

thats a nice lookin bunch of silver, congrats on the great finds. I'll never get sick of seeing those shiny silver coins come out o the dirt. I've never seen a black merc before, must have been some harsh soil. nice digs

Thanks all.

Yeah, the two found Sat. were in a low lying area thats often wet, they seem to come out black that
way and are hard to clean.

Good luck,
HH.

Nice finds. I'll give you some free advice on getting that Merc clean. Drop it in some vinegar for about ten minutes, give it a rinse, repeat if necessary. Flip the coin in the vinegar bath as well. Does the trick for me. That's the only way i clean my silver. Even get the green crud off of it when find 'em by water in the sand.
