This 'medal' was found in the central Great Lakes region maybe 40 years ago, and I've been unable to get an ID on it.

I've interviewed the finder's son (finder dead), and I believe the story of its finding, an accidental find by a farmer in excavating a foundation for a farm building. The area is a small river valley ultimately connected to the Mississippi River system.

It appears to be an alloy of gold, maybe 60%, I'm guessing.

As can be imagined, the archies have been no help.

Any opinions?

I wouldn't have thought it was 40 years old without you telling me. It strikes me as modern and insignificant. I hope I'm wrong and there is more to the story!
