✅ SOLVED Mystery brass/copper item found at old homesite

[perdidogringo]

Hi All,

Can anyone identify this item dug while metal detecting at an old house site in suburban chicago? TIA!

[AU Seeker]

Are there threads in the "nipple"?
If so I would say it's an old toilet tank float.

Similar to these.
