Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Found at a 1780 house in Massachusetts. I believe it’s copper. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Does the ribbed piece come off?It looks like it might have been a carrier of something small, maybe matches.Hung from necklace?

Looks like an alignment pin with a keeper hole

Reminds me of a window weight, but I haven't came across a copper one or one with threads. Another possibility just throw in it out there is a pot handle?

Doesn't look like threads, looks ribbed. Does the hole go all the way through? Looks like it may have been round but got flattened out a little or just dented. What does the bottom where it is ribbed look like? Is the bottom flat, have a hole in it? Its definitely interesting.

Yes to all those questions lol I left it with the home owner but the hole does go all the way through, it does look ribbed, the ribbed end has a flat bottom with a small hole in it

Awful small hole on the ribbed end that looks like it would have a hose or line attached. If that had a hose attached, to the ribbed end, it would take great pressure to push a low volume out of the narrowed end and why have the holes on the side of the smooth end? Or is it only one hole on the smooth end and one on the ribbed end?

I have looked up drain cleaners, but it would seem the size of the holes would be reversed. Looked up enema devices, thought maybe, who knows. Looked up pressure relief valves but why would a pressure relief valve be connected by a ribbed surface to a hose, unless they ribbed it for another purpose? It looks like something old I've seen before though, just can't figure out what, lol.

Agree. From a chatelaine. Maybe a cheroot or needle or match case. Turn of the 20th C. The chatelaine was a lady's "Swiss army knife" of the day.

Gonna take a wag here, but my first thought was that it looks
an awful lot like the exhaust end of an excess pressure valve
on a steam engine.

Have you tried the Oak Island thread. Looks Knights Templar to me.
