Mystery metal detector

Back in 1979-1981, I worked on a survey crew. We used a cylindrical metal detector that looked like the attached drawing.

Does anybody out there know what this was? It was a pretty expensive one at the time, I think. We used it to find nails in the street, and property corners. It was about four feet long, and looked like a big blue pinpointer.

I am answering my own question. It was a Schonstedt "old blue" magnetic locator.
