Mystery rock

I was muzzle-loader hunting in December. I found this rock on top of the hard crusted snow about a mile from any paved road.

Not an expert by any means. A stony meteorite? I believe it should have a burned crust on it though. Strange.

I am not sure what, how or where it came from but found it particularly interesting and unexpected on a frigid December day in the woods.
