Good morning! Hope someone can help ID this piece of chiseled and polished "art" we recently acquired at a tag sale. It is approx. 12" tall and about 30-35 pounds. At first we thought it was just a hunk of granite or soapstone, but was told by a "science-y" family member it looks more organic , so maybe petrified wood or bone? Any help or guesses would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Not sure, but I'll go with a fossilized something as a guess.

Thanks to all, but this piece is definitely a stone or something turned to stone, It is cold and extremely heavy. I've seen iron wood before, and it is heavy, but not like this. Also this is chiseled and not carved. Please keep your ideas coming.....
