I went to a house that I had posted on here I think in January. It's the house that I had five minutes to hunt and found the tax token right off... Put it on the back burner for a bit and almost waited too late! Wow how over-grown it was! But I managed to wade through the day and find a couple of keepers. Didn't really get to hunt anything but the drive way and the front of the house. I could see a clearing on the back side and was heading that way till I saw the wall of the house contained this huge honey bee nest! :P I got to thinkin...maybe I better not....so....I didn't. I didn't bring the camera today but now I wish I had so's you all could see that thing! I'll make sure to bring it next time I visit there. This house pic is the one I took last time.

Finds for the day--

1945P nickle
1957 wheat
Mississippi 5 tax token...this one is different than the ones I usually find...don't think it's aluminum.
Some sort of token that says City of Birmingham Department of Weights and Measures and then the number 37 on the back.
A Junior Police badge
The back of a watch
A couple of odd buttons
A belt buckle
Some regular pennies
And lots of junque not pictured.

Nana, the token is probably bronze or brass. They made different types for different denominations. Here they had paper, plastic, aluminum. and brass. The aluminum were the most common. I'm beginning to think that almost every yard has at least 1 somewhere.

No problem with the close up Tiger! I really don't think it could be that old though....when did they start making plastic?

I stopped back by there today and took a couple of pics......
last pic of this big 'ole tree at the end of the drive...want to hunt there but gonna have to bring in a bush hog!

Hey Nana, do you have those killer bees down there? Be careful. Great finds. I believe that the weights and measures tag would have been put on a scale to verify that it weighed correctly. Congrats..Lance

Ya know Lance.... I'm not sure! But I was there for several hours yesterday and didn't get bothered by them.... Gave them their space! They are probably guarding the good stuff on that side of the house! Thanks for the help on the token!

Killler Bee's LOOK OUT! WOW, I think I rather be in the cave with those wall bugs! Still looks like a good place to hunt! I would get permission to get a weed eater and do some cleaning! If it is the way it looks.
Anyway, Don't be camera shy like me...HAHA I'm taking a picture of everything these days! I think it will be nice to look back on when I get older...Wait...I am older! Ahhhh

I REALLY DO want to take the weed eater....but do ya think it would set those bees off?! Maybe if I just clean the opposite side and back? Maybe if I just take the loppers and cut down the big stuff I could get back there. Don't know if it's worth it. No pics of Nana hunting....usually hunt alone...unless I happen to go a site where my daughter will tag along...and this ain't one of those sites!
