I have to go back to work tomarrow after a week off? so I thought I better try to hunt one more time. I found a nice French button of the 136th reg.? I also found another button about 8 inches from the 136th. There is writing on the back but not the front. I found a flat buttom that you can barley see a three or a five on it. I found one coin that is worn slick? :'(? and three junk coins. I did not find the usual few musket balls but found what may be a pistol ball. I had a week off and it was snowy for all but the last three days.I am not crazy about going back to work but I need the exercise.LOL? Hope all is well and happy hunting.? ? :)

Re: French button and other digs

I found out some info on this button. The 136th regiment was not even a part of the battle here. They were formed and were only around for a little over a year and disbanded. They were part of Napoleon's forces in the battle of Leipzig in 1813. They did pass through this area though.I think that is the just of the Information I could find. This research stuff is kinda fun. :) HH

You got some great find's there birdman...and love the history behind all of it.So I guess the 136th is really rare since they were only around for a year before being disbanded...keep em' comin' and HH
