It seems to me that for the last several months the national news has been severely edited for content and sanitized for our protection. Fox has often been a joke in the choices made for what is and isn't covered. MSNBC is practically a non-stop expose of the criminal justice system in America. CNN is about 80% Obama and 20% titillation (like that jerk who tried to sell the Senate seat). Isn't it possible that in a nation of over 300 million that there might just be other news than where Obama's kids are going to school, or why 1 of the Kennedys dropped out of a race?
I've tried to tune in at different times of the day, but the 'news' channels just have a smattering of a) the job market sucks, b) the housing market sucks, c) the stock market sucks--then some drivel about the mother that's accused of killing her daughter or the White House dog. Where's Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow when you need them?
I can't remember the last time I heard ANY news about Europe or Asia, unless I listened to Short Wave radio. The networks seem to be imposing a blackout--not just about the entire world, but about America too. Am I the only one who hasn't heard anything about the jobless statistics, or how many businesses that have closed? In my community, several small businesses have closed their doors and the larger ones haven't been hiring for many months.
Let MSNBC ramble on about lesbians in prison; Fox can babble incessantly about Socialist give-away programs. I need some REAL news. OK--where can I get it?
