Are the hammers made from pumice or lava rock?
 
they are igneous material out there but I don't think pumice...looks like the stone they use for a metate base. IMO ;)
 
Do those grooves go all the way around? they look a lot like shaft a abraiders to me.
 
They are volcanic rock Rock ...lol
 
The grooves do go all the way around but not real deep. I also have one that my husband put a handle on, nice one...lighter color, finer grain...should have posted it?
